FORECAST: Warm to start the workweek

Tracking showers Tuesday afternoon and night and again Wednesday night.

WASHINGTON — A warm up is on the way Monday through Wednesday. 

Forecast:
Monday: Mostly sunny. Mild. High: 69.
Monday Night: Patchy clouds. Low: 49.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with an afternoon shower. High: 62.

It's a beautiful start to the week! Highs on Monday are expected to hit 70 degrees. Warm temperatures also stick around through the first half of next week. Plan on some showers Tuesday afternoon and night and again Wednesday late. A cold front moves through Wednesday night dropping us back to reality with highs in the 50s on Thursday and Friday. Friday will be the coldest day of the season so far.

Monday: Mostly sunny and unseasonably mild. Highs: 64 - 69.  Winds: NW 5 - 10. 
Monday Night: Partly cloudy. Highs: 39 - 49.  Winds: N 5. 
Tuesday: Partly sunny and pleasant. Highs: 59 - 64. Winds: SE 10.

Monday will be a great start to the work work with highs well into the 60s. A weak back door front drops south Tuesday bringing some showers Tuesday night. A stronger front moves through the DMV Wednesday with the cooler air. Showers with that front will be Wednesday evening. For those in Western Maryland and West Virginia, some snow and rain showers will be around Thursday and Friday.

Wednesday: Increasing clouds and warm with showers late . 65 - 70. 
Thursday: Partly sunny, breezy and chilly. Highs: 51 - 56.
Friday: Partly sunny, breezy and chilly, stray shower. Highs: 46 - 51.
Saturday: Partly cloudy and chilly but pleasant. Highs: 48 - 53.
