Commanders vs. Steelers gameday forecast: Wave your towels, but bring a poncho too

A few showers are possible during the Commanders game Sunday, mainly for the second half.

GREATER LANDOVER, Md. — Commanders fans will get the chance to wave their towels at the Steelers game Sunday, but a poncho might come in handy as well.  The team is handing out burgundy towels to fans as they take on the Steelers who typically wave towels at games.

Fans may see a few showers during the game, mainly around the end of the game.  Light showers could start as early as 2 p.m. at Northwest Stadium, but the better time to see rain is after 4 p.m. Showers will be light, but steady at times.   This means as fans are pouring out of the stadium, there could be a few more showers around.

Tailgating should be dry with cloudy and cool conditions.   It will feel like fall with temperatures in the 50s during game time.
