WASHINGTON — In a significant expansion of flight options at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has granted five new nonstop roundtrip flight routes to major U.S. carriers. These new routes are made possible through the FAA Reauthorization Act, which includes provisions for expanding services at airports across the country to enhance connectivity and competition.

As part of this order, five U.S. airlines have been awarded two slot exemptions each, allowing them to launch new nonstop services from Washington National Airport. These routes will serve major destinations across the United States.
- Alaska Airlines: New service to San Diego, California (SAN).
- American Airlines: New service to San Antonio, Texas (SAT).
- Delta Air Lines: New service to Seattle, Washington (SEA).
- Southwest Airlines: New service to Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS).
- United Airlines: New service to San Francisco, California (SFO).
These new routes expand DCA's connectivity to major cities across the U.S. Travelers from the Washington, D.C. metro area will now have more nonstop options, making it easier to access these key destinations without needing to connect through other hubs.
