Thursday, Sept. 21:

Films For Movie Lovers Series: "Back to the Future" & Ice Cream Social, 5151 Wisconsin Avenue, NW

  • The new outdoor film series in Friendship Heights will take place Thursday evenings in the fall, offering classic and favorite films for the whole family to enjoy.
  • This Thursday's ice cream social kicks off at 6 p.m., followed by the movie at 7:30 p.m.
  • Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chair or blanket to sit on (as the ground is asphalt.)

Capital Book Fest, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

  • The outdoor, pop-up book store is returning to Wilson Plaza.
  • Shop thousands of gently used books, CDs, DVDs and vinyl all on sale for $6 or less. 
  • Books provided by Carpe Librum, a local bookstore benefitting nonprofit Turning the Page.

Mid-Autumn Night Market, 1309 5th Street, NE 

  • Day two of the cultural celebration kicks off Thursday at 6 p.m. and runs through midnight, with food stalls open until 11 p.m.
  • The event is free, but donations are encouraged. They will go to World Central Kitchen to aid in Hawaii disaster relief funds. RSVPs are highly encouraged.
  • The celebration will take place at Hi-Lawn, located on the roof of Union Market.

Friday, Sept. 22:

11th Annual Sustainability Fair, 2401 M Street NW

  • The event is free to attend and will highlight sustainability initiatives of D.C.-based organizations.

Saturday, Sept. 23:

Free Outdoor Yoga at Eastern Market Metro Park

  • From 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., head to the park for a free, guided yoga class.
  • Participants are asked to bring their own mats, towels, and waters.
  • Classes may be canceled due to inclement weather.

Pups in the Park at Nats Park, 1500 South Capitol Street SE

  • It's that time of year to bring your dog to a Nationals game!
  • Pups in the Park is a unique opportunity to watch the game live alongside your furry companion. 
  • Tickets are $35 per person and $10 per dog. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Humane Rescue Alliance. 

The Saturday Night Showcase at Room 808, 808 Upshur Street NW

  • Every Saturday night, comedians take the stage at Room 808 in Petworth.
  • The show is BYOB.
  • Tickets range from free to $10 per person.

Sunday, Sept. 24:

Southwest Fall Festival, 4th Street SW and M Street SW

  • Get ready to celebrate all things autumn at this festival from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • Guests can expect a variety of activities, treats, book bazar, and more.

Adams Morgan Drag Storytime, Intersection of Columbia Road, Champlain Street and Euclid Street NW

  • The monthly event running from 11 a.m. until noon is free and open to children of all ages.
  • Officials say the goal of Drag Storytime is to inspire a love of reading, while teaching deeper lessons on diversity, self-love and an appreciation of others.
