WASHINGTON — It's been real 2023, but I have a new year on my mind.
Celebrate new beginnings this 2024 by checking out one of the many New Year's Eve fireworks shows happening across the DMV.
DC:
- Enjoy a daytime New Years Eve celebration for family at this event in Southeast.
- There will be inflatables, musical entertainment, face painting, balloon art, children's performers, a trackless train ride through Yards Park, and a big countdown and balloon drop at noon to bring in the New Year.
- The event runs from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m.
- It's free and open to the public.
Maryland:
Ring in the New Year at Annapolis' City Dock with a midnight fireworks show over the Annapolis Harbor.
- The fireworks show begins at 7 p.m.
- Tickets are $15 per person and required.
Virginia:
- There will be two fireworks shows to catch in Old Town this year, one at 6 p.m. and another at midnight. The family-inspired earlier show is new this year and will be the main event, according to First Night Alexandria.
- The shows will be held over the Potomac River and can be seen best from waterfront restaurants. Other great viewing spots include Canal Center Plaza, Rivergate Park, Oronoco Bay Park, Founders Park, Waterfront Park, Windmill Hill Park, Ford's Landing Boardwalk, Jones Point Park, and George Washington Masonic Temple.
WinterFest at Kings Dominion in Doswell
- The park will be celebrating New Year's from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m.
- Ice skating sessions will be available.
- Fireworks will go off at midnight.
- Admission starts at $32.99 per person to WinterFest.
