Thursday, September 7:
Public Boat Tour of the Anacostia, 1429 4th Street, SE
- Learn all about the history of the Anacostia River with this free boat tour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
- Each participant is required to fill out a waiver ahead of time and COVID-19 questionnaire.
- The program is funded in part by the 5-cent retail bag fee and by the District Department of Energy and Environment.
Dupont Underground Comedy Shows, 19 Dupont Circle, NW
- Doors open an hour before the show starts at 8 p.m.
- Tickets start at $20 per person for general admission.
Friday, September 8:
Live Music at Metrobar, 640 Rhode Island Avenue, NE
- Bands play every Friday from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. at the bar 8in NE D.C.
Poetry Slam, 2021 14th Street, NW
- Compete for your chance to win $100 or watch others compete in this poetry slam at Busboys and Poets on 14th Street from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m.
- Tickets to watch are $5 per person.
Saturday, September 9:
Free Yoga at Eastern Market Metro Park, 701 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE
- District Flow Yoga and Barracks Row Main have come together to offer free outdoor Vinyasa at Eastern Market Metro.
- Classes kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and are an hour long.
- Attendees are encouraged to bring their own mat, water, and towel.
NoMa in Color Kickoff Party, 227 Harry Thomas Way, NE
- It's a neighborhood party! From September 9 - October 19, the NoMa Business Improvement District presents NoMa in Color; a celebration of art, culture, and community.
- On Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., Chalk Riot will be on-site creating 3D pavement art, bands will play live music, and there will be face painting as well as a variety of activities for all ages.
- Shop locally-made goods and art while enjoying food from local food trucks.
First Amendment Festival, 760 Maine Avenue SW
- Celebrate first amendment freedoms for all at this festival held at the Transit Pier at the Wharf from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
- Expect live music, comedy performances, talks, games, and more.
Sunday, September 10:
DC State Faire, 1332 I Street, NW
- The fair showcasing the District's agricultural and artistic talents, as well as all things homegrown, kicks off at 10 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. at Franklin Park.
- The 2023 contest list has been revamped to include over 30 contests including the classics like Pie, Homebrew, and Honey.
- Tickets are free to attend the fair.
- Organizers say it will take place rain or shine.
- P.S. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles, cutlery, and a shopping bag in an effort to help reduce waste.
Underground Comedy at Wonderland Ballroom, 1101 Kenyon Street, NW
- Local comedians take the stage starting at 8 p.m. every Sunday night.
- The show is free to attend.
- You must be at least 21 years old.
Brewed Up Drag Brunch, 209 M Street, NE
- Kick-off spooky season with this drag brunch at Red Bear Brewing Company in NE D.C. from 10 a.m. until noon.
- Desiree Dik will host with special performances by Baphomette, Kit Chensink, Silver Ware Sidora, and Sweet Pickles!
- Tickets are $25 per person and include two drinks.
