You're never too old to give a new hobby a go - or taste a sweet slice of cake that reminds you how much life is worth celebrating.

Luckily, Cake Time in Chantilly, Virginia is ready to cover both fronts.

The local cakery provides their guests with everything from the tools to the frosting and maybe even a glass of wine - depending on the class you select - to make your cake-baking ambitions come to life!

The magic swirls in a pastel studio with fairy lights, instructions and sprinkles galore; welcoming everyone from kids at their summer camps to couples looking for a crafty date or family putting their time-honored baking skills to the test.

Bakers in training are invited to try their hand adorning cakes with unicorn horns and Harry Potter wands, cupcakes with frosted gardenias or summertime-themed cookies, to name a few.

“You can be as creative with it as you want; if you mess up, you’ll eat it— you can come back next week and do another one," Cake Time owner Amanda MCullough said. "It just takes practice. If you don’t get it on the first try -- you should have seen my first cake!"

The cheerful mom started whipping up her own creations when her sons were small for special occasions. Now, she helps anyone with a little bit of a sweet tooth give it a try.

“You’re really creating memories here," she said. "It’s really about having those memories with you long after the cake is gone.”
