The holiday season is in full swing with the return of several winter markets.

WASHINGTON — The holiday season is back in full swing with the return of several winter markets to the D.C. area. Check out our list of free and fun events happening this weekend below.

Thursday, Nov. 30:

Storytelling Night: Immigrants Celebrating Independence at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library

  • Hear from speakers from all around the world as they share stories of how they found themselves once again after moving to the U.S. 
  • The event is in collaboration with the library's partners at the Nigerian Center. It takes place on the fourth floor of MLK Library in downtown D.C.
  • Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.

Ice & Lights: The Winter Village at Cameron Run 

  • The Winter Village at Cameron Run is back for the 2023-24 season.
  • It is open nightly Nov. 17-Jan. 1 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
    • Ice skating is open Dec. 1-Jan. 1 and is included in Village admission (tickets must be purchased online due to capacity limits). 
  • Tickets start at $8 per person for general admission and $20 with ice skating included.

Political Trivia Night in D.C. 

  • Head to Blackfinn DC at 6:30 p.m. to test your knowledge in politics and win prizes. 
  • The trivia game will be hosted by Christian Hunt.
  • Tickets are free.

Friday, Dec 1:

Downtown DC Holiday Market

  • The 19th Annual Downtown Holiday Market returns Nov. 17 through Dec. 23.
  • The outdoor market supports small businesses and is a great spot to pick up unique and worthwhile holiday gifts.
  • Open 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Saturday, Dec. 2:

31st Annual District Holiday Boat Parade at The Wharf

  • This year's parade will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a fireworks show at 8 p.m.
  • The parade route stretches from the tip of Hains Point up the Washington Channel to the docks at The Wharf.
  • Attendance is free and open to the public.

City Ridge Tree Lighting and Market

City Ridge is getting in the holiday spirit by hosting fun, seasonal activities all weekend long.

On Saturday, there will be a tree lighting ceremony featuring a performance and sing-along with the Children’s Chorus of Washington.

Dupont Circle Holiday Pop-Up 

  • The 7th Annual Dupont Circle Main Streets Holiday Pop-Up will be held Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. (Rain date of Dec. 3).
  • The pop-up features over 50 vendors with a large selection of handmade pottery, textiles, wood crafts, jewelry, home decor, bath and beauty, candles, and local artwork.

Cleveland Park Winter Market

  • Local businesses and vendors will be selling a wide range of gifts at the winter market from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 
  • The event is free to attend.

Sunday, Dec. 3:

Union Market Yoga and Meditation at Dock 5

  • The relaxing and rejuvenating yoga and meditation session will take place at 5th Street Northeast from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • The class is free and open to beginners.
