Detectives believe narcotics, speed played roles in deadly Fairfax Co. crash

Three people died in the crash Tuesday morning.

LEGATO, Va. — Fairfax County Police Department traffic investigators are still looking into what caused a crash that left three people dead early Tuesday morning. While the investigation is still ongoing, detectives believe speed and narcotics played roles.

Officers with Fairfax County Police were called to the overpass of West Ox Road and Route 29 in Legato for a single-vehicle crash just before 4 a.m. Three people were in the car at the time.

Detectives learned that the driver of a 2024 Acura Integra, identified as 46-year-old Corey Rogers, lost control of the car while trying to make a turn, crashing into a cement jersey wall. Rogers and two passengers, 44-year-old Angela Connor of Reston, and 35-year-old Salma Monastra of Herndon, died at the scene of the crash, police say.

Police have not offered any additional information about the crash. Investigators would like to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have helpful information.
