Car hit by train in Bladensburg

A car was hit by a train in Bladensburg Oct. 11.

BLADENSBURG, Md. — A car was hit by a train in Bladensburg Friday morning.

Around 6:07 a.m., the car was hit by a CSX train at 52nd and Kenilworth avenues in Bladensburg, Prince George’s Fire Department said. 

Officials said two people in the car have minor injuries. They were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals. 

CSX will handle the investigation, the fire department said. 

It is not clear how the train ended up on the tracks when the train was coming. Officials have not said whether there was a train signal and if so, if it malfunctioned in any way.
