WASHINGTON — On Tuesday, D.C. is set to host the 37th Annual 17th Street High Heel Race, organized by the Executive Office of the Mayor. This unique annual event will bring exciting festivities to the city, and with it, some important road closures and parking restrictions for drivers to be aware of.
Parking Restrictions:
On October 29 from noon to 11:00 p.m., there will be Emergency No Parking zones on the following streets:
- 17th Street, from New Hampshire Avenue to O Street, NW
- R Street, from 16th Street to New Hampshire Avenue, NW
- Corcoran Street, from 16th Street to New Hampshire Avenue, NW
- Q Street, from 16th Street to 18th Street, NW
- Church Street, from 16th Street to 18th Street, NW
- P Street, from 16th Street to 18th Street, NW
Road Closures:
From 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on October 29, the following streets will be closed to traffic:
- 17th Street, from New Hampshire Avenue to O Street, NW
- Riggs Place, from 16th Street to 17th Street, NW
- R Street, from 16th Street to New Hampshire Avenue, NW
- Corcoran Street, from 16th Street to New Hampshire Avenue, NW
- Q Street, from 16th Street to 18th Street, NW
- Church Street, from 16th Street to 18th Street, NW
Additionally, P Street (from 16th Street to 18th Street, NW) will be intermittently closed from approximately 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
