Person flown to hospital after serious crash in Prince George's Co.

Police say no deaths have been reported.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Police are investigating after multiple people were injured during a crash in Prince George's County Monday afternoon. 

According to Maryland State Police, the crash happened near Ritchie Marlboro Road and Pennsylvania Avenue. Southbound Route 4 at Woodyard Road was  shut down while crews work the scene. 

Maryland State Police said a 2004 Ford E-350 was traveling south on Pennsylvania Avenue (Route 4) when it struck a 2016 Scion iA, after conducting a lane change. After the impact, the Scion struck a dump truck, which caused the Ford and the dump truck to overturn. 

The Ford struck a tree while it was overturned causing the driver to become entrapped. Investigators said witnesses removed the driver of the dump truck before police arrived. 

The driver of the Ford and the driver of the dump truck were flown by Maryland State Police helicopters to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. 

The passenger of the dump truck was transported by ambulance to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center. 

Police say no deaths have been reported.

Police say that section of highway was closed for about seven hours.

Maryland State Police confirmed at least six highway workers were killed in a crash on Interstate 695 in Baltimore County last month. The NTSB is currently investigating the deadly crash.
