UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — A man is dead after being hit by a driver in Upper Marlboro late Monday night.
Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to John Rogers Boulevard and Courtland Lane around 11:05 p.m. after a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. When they arrived they found a man in the roadway suffering from injuries.
The man was taken to the hospital for treatment, but died a short time later. He was later identified by police as 81-year-old Tomel Burke of Upper Marlboro.
Police say the driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene, and she was not injured.
