MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A multi-car crash on Northbound Interstate 270 in Montgomery County has sent at least two people to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to firefighters.
Fire and rescue crews shut down the local lanes of I-270 at Montrose Road and Falls Road due to the crash, which happened around 11 a.m. Lanes have since reopened. Piringer said in a twee that at least two people were seriously hurt, and other drivers were evaluated at the scene.
Investigators are working to determine what led to the crash. It's the second crash on I-270 in Montgomery County Wednesday.
Piringer reminds drivers to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles. Earlier Tuesday morning, a Maryland State Police trooper was struck by a driver on I-270 while the trooper was conducting a traffic stop.
