Crash in Laurel leaves motorcyclist dead

The motorcyclist has since been identified as 21-year-old Johny Carrasco of Silver Spring. No one inside of the car was injured.

LAUREL, Md. — A motorcyclist has died after an early Monday morning crash in Laurel.

Troopers with the Maryland State Police responded just before 3:10 a.m. to Interstate 95 northbound at Maryland Route 98 after a report of a crash in the local lanes. Upon arrival, they found the driver of an unregistered Suzuki Motorcycle struck the rear-end of a Honda Civic. 

It was determined that both vehicles were traveling in the merge lane from northbound I-95 to MD-198.  

The person driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the location. The driver has since been identified as 21-year-old Johny Carrasco of Silver Spring.

The three people inside of Honda at the time of the collision were not injured.
