WASHINGTON — A woman is in the hospital after she was run over by a D.C. Metrobus late Wednesday night.
D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to rescue the pedestrian who had been struck by a Metrobus on 7th and P streets northwest. According to D.C. Fire, the woman was trapped under the wheel of the bus.
Firefighters were able to pull her out from under the bus just after midnight. She was transported to a trauma center with critical injuries around 12:18 a.m. Thursday, according to posts from D.C. Fire on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Officials have not said what bus line it was, but there is a stop on the G2 line on the northeast and southeast corners of 7th and P streets NW and also a stop on the 70 line on the southwest and southeast corners.
Investigators have not provided any details on what caused the crash. WUSA9 will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
