Man stabbed on Metrobus in Northwest DC, suspect fled

Officials say a man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed on a Metrobus.

WASHINGTON — A man has been taken to the hospital after he was stabbed on a Metrobus Friday night in Northeast D.C., the transit agency said.

Officers from the Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) responded to Benning Road and 18th Street Northeast for a stabbing just before 8 p.m.

When MTPD arrived at the location, they found a man who had been on a Metrobus. He was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene prior to MTPD's arrival. Police are working to identify a person and motive in connection with the stabbing on the bus.

The investigation remains ongoing.
