WASHINGTON — Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has announced their modified holiday schedule for Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Metrorail will operate under a Saturday holiday schedule with modified service on the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines. The Metrobus will operate with Saturday Supplemental service.
Here's the service information for the train and bus:
- Metrorail will operate from 5 a.m. until midnight with Saturday service frequencies. There will be modified service on Blue, Orange, and Silver lines due to construction. (Red, Yellow, and Green Lines will operate with normal Saturday service frequencies.)
- Buses replace trains between Foggy Bottom-GWU and Arlington Cemetery/Clarendon stations.
- Rosslyn and Court House stations closed.
- Free Express and Local Shuttle Bus Service will be provided to all affected stations.
- Blue Line trains operate in two segments: between Franconia-Springfield and Arlington Cemetery every 12 minutes (daytime) and 15 minutes (evening); and between Foggy Bottom-GWU and Downtown Largo every 10 minutes (daytime) and 15 minutes (evening).
- Orange Line trains operate in two segments: between Vienna and Clarendon every 10 minutes (daytime) and 15 minutes (evening); and between Foggy Bottom-GWU and New Carrollton every 10 minutes (daytime) and 15 minutes (evening).
- Silver Line Silver Line trains operate between Ashburn and Clarendon only, every 10 minutes (daytime) and 15 minutes (evening).
- Metrobus will operate on a Saturday Supplemental schedule. Click here to view timetables.
Normal weekday fares will be in effect for the holiday. In addition, WMATA says MetroAccess customers will be able to travel on holiday, but subscription trips will be canceled.
