WASHINGTON — Did you know each Metro station has a restroom? That may sound like a strange question, but many riders had no idea that bathrooms existed at Metro. The few riders who are aware that they exist say it’s not easy to gain access to them. Trying to use a bathroom at a metro station can feel like trying to go to Narnia.
But on Monday, WMATA tweeted that “after 14 years, all 169 Metrorail restrooms have been completely renovated”, inviting all 300,000 of their X followers to Narnia.
Each renovation takes about 30 days to complete, varying based on restroom conditions. In a video showing the renovation process, Metro says each restroom is now fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The final station restroom was completed at Crystal City in January of this year. Now that the gateway to Narnia has been revealed, all one has to do is ask a station manager to gain access.
