Disabled train causes service disruption on Blue and Yellow Lines, Metro says

WMATA does have shuttle buses available to help commuters get where they need to go.

WASHINGTON — Those attempting to use the Blue and Yellow Metro Lines Sunday faced delays after a disabled train caused service disruption.

According to tweets from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, service on the Blue and Yellow Lines was suspended from Reagan National Airport to Braddock Road in the direction of Huntington and Franconia due to a disabled train outside Potomac Yard.

WMATA does have shuttle buses available to help commuters get where they need to go.

"If you are heading to [Reagan National Airport] in either direction, please consider alternative travel," WMATA tweeted.

Trains are moving slowly around the disabled train and through a signal issue. WMATA explained that every other Yellow Line train will turn at Pentagon City and every other Blue Line train will turn at Arlington Cemetery.

Station managers should be able to point riders in the direction of the available shuttle buses.
