ARLINGTON, Va. — Crews will shut down Memorial Bridge from Friday to Monday for road work.
Officials said cars, pedestrians, and bicyclists won't have any access to the Memorial Bridge this weekend.
The bridge over the Potomac River will close completely starting at 10 p.m. Friday, November 15 and will be closed until 5 a.m. Monday, November 18.
The bridge will close to allow contractors to prepare for the next phase of construction. The rehabilitation project started in 2018 and is about halfway done.
The closure was originally scheduled to happen two weeks ago but was postponed.
According to The National Park Service, the project is still on schedule to finish in early 2021.
