Woman dies after she loses control of vehicle in Manassas Wednesday morning, police say

She was the only person riding in the vehicle, according to officers.

MANASSAS, Va. — Police say a woman died Wednesday morning in Manassas after she lost control of her vehicle, leading the vehicle to travel through fields, crash into fences, and eventually overturn.

According to a statement from Prince William County Police Department, investigators responded around 8 a.m. to the 5300 block of Hoadly Road. Police say the woman was driving a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee north on a private gravel road on a property off Hoadly Road.

The woman — whom police identified as 35-year-old Emily Kathryn Fleming of Manassas — lost control of her Jeep when she accelerated suddenly and left the roadway, police said.
