Crash leaves pedestrian dead in Huntington

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene of the deadly crash.

HUNTINGTON, Va. — A man was hit and killed by the driver of a car in Huntington early Friday.

Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department responded to North Kings Highway and Huntington Park Drive around 12:30 a.m. after a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, a man was found injured due to the crash and pronounced dead at the location.

The identity of the man has not been released, including his age, name, and where he is from.

The person driving the car remained at the location. At this point in the investigation, the police department believes that alcohol and speed may have been factors causing the deadly collision.

The driver involved has been arrested for driving while intoxicated and is being held without bond, according to Fairfax County Police.

The intersection was closed for the investigation, but has since been opened back up to traffic.
