MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A man who was riding a lawn mower has died after a collision with a car on Great Seneca Highway Tuesday afternoon.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) says officers responded to the crash at approximately 1:13 p.m. in the area of Great Seneca Highway and High Gables Drive.

That's where police say they found 28-year-old Juan Guerrero-Moreno of Silver Spring unresponsive in the roadway. He was given life-saving measures and transported to an area hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

MCPD says the cause of the crash is still under investigation. Officers say the striking vehicle, a black 2021 Genesis G70, was traveling northbound when it struck Guerrero-Moreno. Guerrero-Moreno was reportedly traveling on a zero-turn riding mower as he was crossing the northbound lanes of the highway from east to west. The driver of the Genesis remained at the scene.

MCPD's Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the collision.

This is a developing story and will be updated when new information becomes available.
