Fiery truck crash causes 6-mile back up on SB I-95 in Quantico

Drivers were asked to take their time and move through the area with caution.

QUANTICO, Va. — A truck fire on southbound Interstate 95 near Russell Road in Quantico shut down all lanes on the interstate Monday morning.

The lane closures caused a 6-mile back up in the area.

Flames and smoke coming from the truck could be seen through the traffic camera on the roadway

As of 10 a.m., all lanes have since reopened.

Drivers were asked to take their time and move through the area with caution and to follow traffic control near the scene. Officials said the truck was hauling sanitizer wipes and there was nothing hazardous. It is unclear if additional vehicles were involved in the incident.

At this time, there were reported injuries.

The truck was moved upright and hauled away from the scene on a flatbed around 7 a.m., Stafford County Fire Department said.

Stafford County Fire Department and Quantico Fire crews responded to the crash.
