WASHINGTON — A vehicle crashed over an embankment near Rock Creek Park on Broad Branch Road near Brandywine Street Northwest, according to DC Fire and EMS. Stabilization and rescue efforts are reportedly underway.
Authorities are asking drivers to seek alternate routes or follow directions from crews on the scene.
According to officials, one person was in a vehicle that crashed and landed in a precarious position over Rock Creek. She was evaluated by EMS and appeared uninjured, but she declined further medical attention, according to DC Fire and EMS.
DC Fire and EMS posted a video to X, formerly Twitter, of the scene of the crash. In the video, a vehicle appears to have rolled over off the roadway into a ditch, and firefighters can be seen positioning a ladder outside of the driver's side door.
At this time we do not what caused the driver to go off the road. The crash is currently under investigation.
