WASHINGTON — Tuesday is the 29th annual Blue Mass in downtown D.C.

At the annual event, first responders gather to remember the contributions of those who have served in law enforcement and public safety agencies and to ask for continued protection for them in the future. Representatives of federal and local law enforcement and public safety agencies from the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area and around the country are expected to attend at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Here's what drivers in the area need to know about road closures and parking restrictions.

The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking and closed to vehicle traffic on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

  • 10th Street from F Street to H Street, NW
  • G Street from 9th Street to 11th Street, NW
  • G Place from 9th Street to 10th Street, NW

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.
