WASHINGTON — DC's Mayor Muriel Bowser has activated the first hypothermia alert of the season.
The alert is scheduled to go into effect Tuesday at 7 p.m. due to cold weather. The National Weather Service is forecasting the overnight temperature and wind chill for DC to drop as low as 32 degrees with a wind chill of 27 degrees.
The alert is expected to remain in place until conditions improve.
Residents are being asked to help neighbors experiencing homelessness in need of shelter by calling the Shelter Hotline.
