ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Hayfield Hawks beat the John Lewis Lancers 62-0 for its homecoming game, and WUSA9 was at it for our High School Game of the Week!
WUSA9's Annie Yu, a graduate of Hayfield, was part of the homecoming festivities and WUSA9's Sharla McBride was also out covering the matchup in Alexandria, Virginia! We had a ton of fun, some great food and met a bunch of great people!
Hayfield and John Lewis have a combined record of 4-12 for the 2021 season after Friday's game.
The two schools sit less than a 10-minute drive from one another, so expect fans from both teams to fill the stands come Friday night.

John Lewis High is formerly Robert E. Lee High School, and was renamed after the late Georgia congressman as part of the wave of racial justice reforms following George Floyd's death in 2020.
Washington Football Team's new kicker Chris Blewitt is an Alexandria native and worked for the Hayfield High coaching staff in recent years with their special teams.
