ST. LOUIS (AP) - Plans have been unveiled for a new open-air football stadium in St. Louis along the Mississippi River as the city ups its bid to either keep the Rams or lure a new NFL team.
The plan announced Friday said the stadium would cost at least $860 million. Private sources and seat licensing fees would pay for more than half, while other funding would come from tax credits and other public financing.
There'd be no new tax burden for the 64,000-seat stadium, to be built over four years.
The plan was developed by a two-man team appointed by Missouri's governor.
Concerns grew this week about the Rams' future in St. Louis when it was announced owner Stan Kroenke is part of a venture building a stadium in Los Angeles.
