The Olympic Ceremony for Week 2 will showcase women who are the first to win gold for their country in their individual Olympic event.

Caterine Ibargüen takes the bronze medal. This Olympian won the triple jump, a title that was missing from her successful career. She also beat out reigning Olympic champion Olga Rypakova and Venezuela's Yulimar Rojas. This is the first gold medal in any athletics event for Colombia.

In second place is Helen Maroulis. This wrestler defeated three-time defending Olympic champion Saori Yoshida, a Japanese legend in the sport. This is a monumental win for the United States as it's the first gold medal in women’s wrestling.

In first place, taking the gold, is an athlete who was ranked 34th in the world going into the Olympics, but at the end she was the best. Monica Puig took the gold in women’s tennis singles. This gold medal Olympian even had catholic services delayed because the entire island of Puerto Rico came to a halt to watch the championship game. This is Puerto Rico’s first ever Olympic gold victory.
