DC restaurant manager shares Alex Ovechkin's home game meal

Our own Eric Flack was able to sit down with the manager of Mama Lucia in Tampa Bay, FL to see what Ovechkin's game day meal is.

TAMPA BAY, FL (WUSA9)--Almost every athlete knows that what you put in your body the day of a game is very important.

Washington Capitals' star player Alex Ovechkin is no different.

We found out that his traditional meal comes from an Italian restaurant in Bethesda, MD.

Our own Eric Flack was able to sit down with the manager of Mama Lucia in Tampa Bay, FL to see what Ovechkin's game day meal is.

You might be surprised to know that the athletic hockey player orders, the chicken parmesan, plain pasta, and four different sauces to go on top.

Could you imagine the pressure the cooks must feel to never mess up Alex Ovechkin's meal?

The manager tells Flack, "The only mistake I've ever made in the five years, Rob Tillotson called me and said Dave, the game is tomorrow night. I told him, this morning you eat his meal."

That's not too bad when you have a lot riding on a single meal.

The manager also told Flack, the Caps are for sure going to beat Tampa in Game 7 Wednesday night, and will advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.

We hope he's right.
