DMV uncle and nephew duo drop another Commanders theme hit song

DJ Woody Oh Goody and Big57 are out with another hit song helping create momentum around the team.

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. — Excitement for the Washington Commanders continues to grow following the release of the team’s new schedule. D.C. native Woodrow Sellers, also known as DJ Woody Oh Goody, and his nephew, Wayne Sellers, aka Big57, are also out with another hit song helping create momentum around the team.

A sense of hope being given to Commanders' fans ahead of the season beat-by-beat.

“It wasn’t really no goal, it was just like an uncle and nephew thing,” rapper Wayne Sellers, who goes by Big57 said.

Their latest hit, "Those Haters Can't Stand Us," is brought to you by the local uncle and nephew duo, and is already gaining major traction from fans.

“I was checking the numbers, 55,000 checked again 85,000,” rapper Woodrow Sellers, known as DJ Woody Oh Goody said. “I said this is really happening again.”

Now, the video has over 105,000 views, but it doesn’t stop just there.

“Anything the Commanders do the songs on Apple Music and Spotify go up. When they hired the new coach, numbers went up,” DJ Oh Goody said. “When the Cowboys lost and got eliminated, the numbers when up. When we drafted Jayden Daniels, the numbers shot up.”

In fact, after Commanders franchise quarterback Jayden Daniel was selected by the team, his mother quoted their song.

“To catch fire twice is amazing, so I’m feeling great about it,” DJ Woody Oh Goody said.

The spotlight isn’t anything new for them.

“The fact that we have the power to bring all the fans together and have something to cheer about,” Big57 said.

WUSA9 was first introduced to the duo in 2022, when they began receiving recognition from fans, athletes, and celebrities near and far.

“I was an aspiring rapper in the 90’s and I thought it was over but I kept writing and rapping for fun and 30 years later to have this kind of success,” DJ Woody Oh Goody said. “You got to stick with what you love doing.”

The love for this team runs within the veins of this family.

“I started really liking the Redskins and then going into the 80’s when I joined the army and just being from the area, when they lost people would clown me and it made me go for them even more,” DJ Woody Oh Goody said.

They even remixed and created a Go-Go version of their song.

“It’s a culture thing,” Big57 said. “It’s where we from, just like Mumbo sauce on chicken it’s just our thing.”

As the world enjoys this new bloom of ambition around the team, the two artists prepare for September 8th.

“I can’t wait for this season,” Big57 said.

When asked about what's the next, the two did not share any firm plans.
