Commanders secure No. 2 pick in 2024 NFL Draft

After a disappointing 4-13 season, is a new quarterback coming to the Commanders?

WASHINGTON — Now that the 2023 NFL regular season has come to a close, the first 18 picks are locked in. The Chicago Bears have the first pick of the draft for the second year in a row, thanks to a trade with the Carolina Panthers from last March. Your Washington Commanders are the second team on the clock.

With an organizational change likely following a disappointing 4-13 season, the future of quarterback Sam Howell is up in the air. Head coach Ron Rivera was confident Howell could lead the franchise, but new leadership could see things differently. A new signal caller could be on the way to the DMV.

Aside from QB, the Commanders need help at edge rusher, after trading away Montez Sweat and Chase Young. Another priority would be rebuilding the offensive line.
