Social media explodes again after Jayden Daniels torches another NFL team

Academy Award-nominated actor and DC native Jeffrey Wright posted, “It's fun again to watch DC football.”

ASHBURN, Va. — Washington Commanders star rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels continues to take the NFL world by storm. He’s not just the talk of D.C. -- he’s quickly becoming the talk of the entire sports world.

People across the sports and the entertainment world joined with diehard fans to celebrate Daniels' most recent record setting performance against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday.

Academy Award-nominated actor and D.C. native Jeffrey Wright posted a GIF of that famous freedom scene of Tim Robbins in the rain from movie Shawshank Redemption with the caption, “It's fun again to watch DC football.”

NFL Insider Adam Schefter noted, “Four games into his rookie season, Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is off to a historic start.” Daniels was pictured next to seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady.

Then there was a video posted by Washington legend and Super Bowl winner Rick “Doc” Walker of fans celebrating after the game inside State Farm Stadium in Arizona, where Commanders fans showed up in huge numbers. Commanders super fan “Hogfarmer” Chris Bryant and his adorable 7-year-old daughter Quinn even posted a slow motion video wiping away imaginary tears, hugging and shouting to the heavens, “We finally have a franchise QB and a good team. 3-1!”

On Monday's "CBS This Morning" show, WUSA9 alum and host of "NFL Today," James Brown, offered his take on what makes Daniels so special.

“A young man of character that’s first and foremost with me,” Brown told host Nate Burleson. “He can flat out play. It just looks like he’s got a dose of calm in his system. And this young kid, he’s got Washington rocking and rolling.”
