Commanders tickets skyrocket after recent winning streak

Resale tickets for the Oct. 13 game against the Ravens are being listed between $200 and $1,200, with some outliers shooting even further up.

BALTIMORE — The Commanders have been on fire this season, winning four games in a row, most recently against the Cleveland Browns.

With all of the recent success for the team, tickets have gotten increasingly expensive for the fans.

If you’re looking to head up the road to Baltimore this weekend to see the Commanders take on their neighbors the Ravens for the first time in four years, you may be out a pretty penny.

Resale websites have tickets listed anywhere from $200 to $1,200, with some outliers going much higher. On Ticketmaster, tickets are listed for as much as $2,050.95, as of 1 p.m. Monday. Ticketmaster is the official seller of NFL tickets, but the platform also hosts reselling. On SeatGeek, tickets are listed for as much as $1,305.

These prices are unprecedented. According to SeatGeek data, the average ticket price for an NFL game is $151. But so far this season, tickets to see the Commanders are as low as $59 and cost $321 on average, the site says.

Last year, in October 2023, tickets were as low as $75 and were $270 on average, according to the Internet Archive.

Back in September of 2022, however, prices were as low as $18 and were $60 on average.

Part of that rise could be attributed to rookie quarterback and No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels, who has had a historic start to his NFL career. He has quickly become a favorite for offensive rookie of the year.

Against the Browns on Sunday, Daniels did not come close to completing 82.5% of passes like in his first four professional games. But he did make highlight-reel throws of 66 yards to Terry McLaurin and 41 for a TD to Dyami Brown, the latter of which after he asked offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury for the chance to go deep.

“He called the play, and we did it,” said Daniels, who gave way to backup Marcus Mariota with 12:50 left and the outcome already determined.
