Commanders rookie QB Jayden Daniels continues to make headlines

He’s not only the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month and the latest FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week, but his jersey is also the top seller in the league.

WASHINGTON — Washington Commanders rookie Quarterback Jayden Daniels is on fire, and the accolades just keep rolling in!

Not only has Daniels secured the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Month award for September, but he’s also snagged the FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week award, marking a monumental start to his career. To top it all off, his jersey is the hottest in the league, taking the No. 1 spot for the past week. Commanders fans, it’s time to celebrate because this is the start of something special.

Daniels’ stats for September are jaw-dropping. He went 87-of-106 for 897 yards, threw three touchdown passes, and had just one interception. Oh, and he didn’t just get it done through the air, he rushed for 218 yards and found the end zone four times. His 82.1% completion percentage is not only the highest in the league right now but the best through four games in NFL history. Yes, history. Daniels has led 23 scoring drives, and he’s thrown fewer incomplete passes (19) than the number of drives resulting in points.

Daniels' impressive performance has landed him in the Top 10 of all key NFL passing categories. He’s No. 3 in passer rating (107.4), No. 2 in the NFC, and leads all quarterbacks in rushing touchdowns with four. He’s second only to Lamar Jackson in rushing yards by a QB. And for those who love the finer stats, Daniels is the first player ever to record back-to-back games with a completion percentage of 85% or higher.

In winning Offensive Rookie of the Month, Daniels joins an elite group of Washington players, including Robert Griffin III, who won the award twice in 2012, and Hall-of-Famers like Chris Samuels and Champ Bailey. Daniels is only the third offensive player in franchise history to receive this honor and his name now sits beside legends.

As if that weren’t enough, Daniels made even more headlines by becoming the first rookie in any position this year to win the FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week award. His outstanding 26-of-30 passing, 233 yards, and two total touchdowns helped secure this recognition, which hasn’t been won by a Washington QB since Kirk Cousins in 2016. With his victory, FedEx will donate $2,000 in Daniels’ name to an HBCU of his choice, funding scholarships for deserving students.

Commanders Nation, it’s time to rally behind No. 5 because Jayden Daniels is not just the future, he’s the present. So throw on your No. 1 selling jersey, and get ready for a thrilling season.
