Here are the Super Bowl Sunday events planned in the DMV

There are several watch parties and tailgates planned in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

WASHINGTON — The Super Bowl is quickly approaching, and there are several ways to watch the big game in the DMV.

If you want to go out to see the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs compete at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas at a local bar or restaurant in your area, it’s best to plan ahead. Here are some of the watch parties and tailgates planned for the Super Bowl in D.C., Maryland and Virginia on Feb. 11.

D.C. 

Logan Tavern is hosting a watch party and will be serving up classic game day snacks, including wings and popcorn. Tickets start at $40 and it includes beer, wings, fries and more. 

Several bars and restaurants on 8th Street Southeast in Barracks Row will be streaming the game including As You Are, The Brig and Lola’s. Registration is not required, but you can purchase raffle tickets ahead of the event. Raffle tickers will make you eligible to win gift cards or signed sports memorabilia.

Metrobar is hosting a tailgate and watch party, offering happy hour specials all night until the end of the game. Entry is free. There will also be a family-friendly pre-game party earlier that day, with face painting and balloon animals. Tickets are $5 per family.

Don't forget, if you're into the other kind of football, there’s another big game on Super Bowl Sunday — the African Cup of Nations. You can watch both games at Johnny Pistolas. It’s also encouraged to dress up in your best Taylor Swift-inspired outfit: Make sure to show up in style and watch the greatest love story in football history.  

Maryland

La Catrina Bar & Lounge will be streaming the big game and hosting a post-game celebration. It’s free entry, and specials including wings, beer buckets and margaritas will be available.

Balkonie Bar and Lounge is hosting a party with free entry. DJ T-Why?, a D.C.-based DJ, will be spinning tracks all night long.

Shutter Up Warehouse is hosting a tailgate complete with games, a DJ, games and classic Super Bowl snacks including nachos and sliders. Tickets are $75.

Virginia

Clarendon Ballroom will be serving drink specials all night with a $25 buffet station. There will also be private sections for tailgating, and the game area will have cornhole and water pong. Entry is free, but’s it’s recommended to reserve a spot ahead of time.

Alexandria Bier Garden will be streaming the game and serve food and drinks. Entry is free.

Shipgarten will have big screens and team-colored Jello shots. There are also VIP couches available, but general entry is free. It’s recommended to reserve your spot ahead of the game.

Punch Bowl Social Arlington will have bingo to commemorate the big game, drink specials including $25 Buckets of Bud Light and themed-cocktails. Entry is free.
