NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - For the second game in a row, Angel Delgado tied a career high with 19 points and Seton Hall beat Georgetown 69-61 on Saturday night.
Delgado, who had 19 on Wednesday in a win over Marquette, was 8 of 12 from the field with 13 rebounds for the Pirates (17-6, 7-4 Big East). Isaiah Whitehead scored 16 points with 11 rebounds and Derrick Gordon added 12 points.
Isaac Copeland led Georgetown (13-11, 6-5) with 18 points, while L.J. Peak had 17 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Georgetown trailed by two after Bradley Hayes' jumper with 5:04 to go. But Whitehead hit a 3-pointer, and then Seton Hall made 8 of 10 free throws to go up by nine with 32 seconds remaining, while the Hoyas struggled down the stretch, making just two of their last eight shots and 4 of 7 from the line over the final five minutes.
