WASHINGTON (WUSA9) — Washington Redskins cornerback Deangelo Hall has become a staple in the NFL and one of the most popular players during his 8 years with the Washington Redskins. But it was his time in Blacksburg that made him a household name.

Now, it has all come full circle. Hall will be inducted into the Virginia Tech Hall of Fame. Hall is one of six who will be inducted Sept.16 and then introduced the next day during halftime of the Virginia Tech-Boston College game at Lane Stadium.

Hall’s career at Virginia Tech started off with an interception in his very first game as a freshman. He went on to finish his college career with 172 total tackles and eight interceptions before turning pro after his junior year. Hall was a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist and holds the school record for punts returned for a touchdown not only in a game, but a season and career as well.

In his 13-year career in the NFL, at the age of 32, Hall has racked up 43 interceptions, five touchdowns, and 781 total tackles.

Joining Hall in the 2016 Hall of Fame class are Kerri Gardin, Kevin Jones, Spyridon Jullien, Ashlee Lee and Jim Weaver.

Congratulations D-Hall!
