Former Redskins great and current WUSA9 football analyst Darrell Green apologized for the way he criticized the personal life of former Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III on a radio show.

"I think he is 100 percent right," Green said. "Because I know him and consider him a Christian brother, I should have gone to him.”

Griffin III, now playing for Cleveland, replied that he was disappointed that Green had not come to him first with his comments. Green agreed that was what he should have done.

“That said, my comments and the motivation behind them still remains. I definitely need to speak to him, I did it wrong," Green said. “He is a friend of mine. I have sat in his house, so he was absolutely right and my focus is absolutely right.”

Green had questioned the way Griffin III was handling the separation from his wife, with whom he has a child, and how Griffin III was publicizing his new girlfriend on social media.
