WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — While Mardi Gras isn't till March 5, here are some ways you can celebrate before Fat Tuesday.
Friday, March 1
When: Friday, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Where: Tysons Biergarten - 8346 Leesburg Pike Tysons, VA
Toast to the end of the week and Mardi Gras at Tysons Biergarten's Mardi Gras bash. They'll have beads, live music, good drinks and good vibes. It's highly encouraged to come dressed up in your best Mardi Gras attire, wigs included.
Saturday, March 2
When: Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where: US Botanic Garden - 100 Maryland Ave. SW
With Love DC will be hosting a community yoga practice at the US Botanical Garden as a part of their pop up yoga series. All you have to do is register and show up! Please remember to bring a mat with you as they will not be provided.
When: Saturday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: District Wharf - 1100 Main Ave. SW
The Wharf DC's Mardi Gras festivities include a parade featuring the Washington Nationals 'Running Presidents', a dance party and a fireworks display to top it all off. If you want to grab food after the festivities, Wharf restaurants will each host their own specials so you won't have to go home hungry, or thirsty for that matter.
Sunday, March 3
When: Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Capital Cider House - 3930 Georgia Avenue NW
If you're looking for another family friendly way to enjoy Mardi Gras, Capital Cider House will be hosting 'Family Gras' where your kids can enjoy free face painting, free balloon animals and free festive crafts. Also, because it's not Mardi Gras unless there's cake, Cider House will be flying in a cake from legendary New Orleans bakery Gambinos.
When: Sunday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Overlee Pool Clubhouse - 6030 Lee Hwy Arlington, VA
In honor of the upgraded Tiny Chef logo and website, bring your kids out to take part in free activities for the Tiny Chef re-launch party like a parfait making station, face paint, decorating chef hats, professional chef demonstrations and much more.
