This Virginia Food Lion recalled ground beef that may have 'foreign material' in it

The store will refund impacted customers double the price they paid for the recalled ground beef.

MANASSAS, Va. — Food Lion is recalling several types of ground beef that were sold at a store in Manassas because it may contain "traces of foreign material."

According to the grocery store chain, the ground beef was sold at the Food Lion at 6306 Hoadly Road. It was produced on Aug. 18 and has a sell-by date of Aug. 20, 2024. 

The recalled ground beef includes the following varieties:

  • 73% Lean Fresh Ground Beef (All Sizes)
  • 80% Lean Fresh Ground Chuck (All Sizes)
  • 85% Lean Fresh Ground Beef Round (All Sizes)
  • 93% Lean Fresh Ground Beef (All Sizes)

Customers who bought the recalled ground beef are advised to not eat it and instead return it to the Food Lion on Hoadly Road. The store will provide customers with a refund equal to double the purchase price, which is in line with the grocery chain's “Double Your Money Back Guarantee.”
