COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA) -- The University of Maryland football game was suspended at halftime Saturday afternoon after a threat of lightning forced mandatory evacuations of fans from Byrd Stadium.

A tweet from the Terps Gameday account stated a weather advisory, than a later tweet advised fans to please evacuate the stadium.

The stadium reopened at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
