Tuesday marks the 12th anniversary of the mass shooting at Virginia Tech University. 32 students and faculty died when a gunman opened fire on the Blacksburg campus in 2007.
The shooter, a 23-year-old student, later took his own life.
At the time it was the deadliest shooting in the United States.
There was a vigil on campus Monday night in memory of the lives lost. Virginia's governor ordered all flags to be lowered to half staff Tuesday in honor of the victims.
