ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - UPDATE: Estimated time for fuel pump and Tractor-trailer removal is at least one hour.
A tractor-trailer has crashed with another vehicle and overturned on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, closing the westbound lanes.
Maryland Transportation Authority Police spokesman Sgt. Jonathan Green says one person was injured in the crash Saturday. He says the injuries are considered non-life threatening. It happened 2:45 p.m.
The truck was carrying wooden pallets. Green says there was nothing hazardous spilled in the crash, and nothing fell off the bridge.
Green says westbound traffic is being detoured onto Route 8. That's the last exit prior to the Bay Bridge on the Eastern Shore.
Police are preparing to set up two-way traffic on the eastbound span of the bridge. It will take some time to remove the truck and crash debris from the bridge span.
