WASHINGTON — Chocolate, vanilla, coffee, peanut butter, salted caramel and strawberry — these are just a few of the shake flavors Shake Shack has to offer. However, the restaurant has launched a new flavor, available for a limited time.
The new Cherry Blossom shake is a mix of all things spring — it's a blend of vanilla frozen custard and cherry blossom, topped with pink chocolate curls. The launch of the flavor is just in time for D.C.'s 2019 National Cherry Blossom Festival.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city in 1912. The festival also celebrates the bond between the United States and Japan.
The Cherry Blossom festival lasts four weeks, and welcomes over 1.5 million people — and Shake Shack's new flavor is one to sip on during the festivities. Below are photos from the 2014 festival.
