LETCHWORTH STATE PARK, NY (WUSA9) -- The sub-freezing temperatures have been a pain for many people living in the Northeast but it has also created a beautiful scene at a New York state park known as the "Grand Canyon of the East."
CBS video shows an "ice volcano," created when a geyser froze over in Letchworth State Park. Twitter is full of images of the ice volcano, which is a solid cone of ice.
According to the Associated Press, ice volcano is five stories tall and is located in a pond near the Glen Iris Inn at the park.
Major waterfalls on the Genesee River are also a big draw because they are nearly frozen over by one of the coldest Februarys on record.
