ALEXANDRIA, Va. — In a move that mixes cat-themed humor with a dose of political satire, Mount Purrnon Cat Café + Wine Bar has unveiled their latest fashion statement: the “Childless Cat Lady" shirt. The new addition to their collection has quickly become the purr-fect punchline following a recently resurfaced comment by Sen. JD Vance.
For those who might have missed it, Vance recently made headlines after a video resurfaced in which he made a remark about Democrats, which struck a nerve with many. During a 2021 interview, Vance complained the U.S. was being run by Democrats, corporate oligarchs and "a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too."
Instead of taking the comment too seriously, Mount Purrnon decided to turn the spotlight onto themselves and have a little fun. They released their new shirt, featuring a cat lounging with a wine glass, adorned with the cheeky slogan, “Childless Cat Lady."
The shirt is a nod to the stereotypical “cat lady” trope, but with a twist.
