Virginia voter guide: Here are all the candidates that will be on 2024 Virginia ballots

To help you prepare to cast a ballot, we've broken down what you can expect to see if you're registered in Virginia, from statewide to county-by-county races.

VIRGINIA, USA — On Nov. 5, voters across the country will head to the polls to make their voices heard in races that will decide the political agenda of our country, from the next president of the United States to senators, representatives and myriad local seats as well as constitutional amendments and ballot initiatives/questions.

Polls will be open in Virginia from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can track results once polls close here, with live coverage all evening on our free streaming app, WUSA9+.

Virginia is the only locality in the DMV that requires identification (see list of acceptable IDs) to be shown. If you forget your ID, though, don't give up — you can ask to sign an ID statement affirming your identity and still be given a regular ballot.

Here are some helpful links for voters before you head out to the polls:

To help you prepare before you cast a ballot, we've broken down what you can expect to see if you're registered in Virginia. We'll start with statewide races that will be on all ballots, and then narrow it down to county-by-county. You can see the full DMV voter guide here.
